READERS THEATER STRATEGY
PARENT AND CHILD ACT OUT PARTS OF THE STORY.
Choose stories which your child can act out.
Choose books about families, children, and animals.
Help your child make and/or gather the materials to make the props.
Be prepared to watch your child’s dramatic production over and over!
This strategy helps your child become actively involved in the story.
Often only one or two props are needed to act out the story.
Stuffed animals, puppets, magazine pictures, and homemade cutouts are all props your child will enjoy.
