Well, the Grot named Opal is really getting around the state. Opal was purchased by Karen Simmons and then donated as a memorial to the Big Rapids Public Library. Families enrolled in the preschool story hour program were able to take Opal home with them to read to her. Apparently, she had an exciting time and visited many families whose kids have fallen in love with her. Below are pictures of Opal and her special blanket with two different families from the Big Rapids Area!

Other Grots such as Justice are serving children in Ionia County through the court system. Extra blankets that were made during the project were donated to the Lansing Oncology program to be given to young patients. The Grots were an outstanding fund-raiser for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Ionia County.
