The Early Intervention Department is seeking the talents of those who can sew to make children’s blankets for a fund raiser for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Ionia County. A panel of material featuring “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” has been purchased for you to use. Quilters would be expected make a quilt that would be approximately 40 to 60 inches. Interested individuals would utilize their own creative design and materials to complete the project. A label will be provided with each quilt that would identify the individual that pieced the quilt together and the individual that quilted it. This label would be hand stitched onto the quilt. The blanket would then be paired with a book and a book mark featuring important literacy milestones from birth to five. The quilts will be sold at a price between $45.00 and $55.00. This would allow the profits of the project to completely fund one child for an entire year in the library.
If you are interested in making a quilt for this cause please contact Cheryl Granzo at 1 (616) 522-1410. Quilt kits can be sent to you in the mail if you leave your name and mailing information. If you do not quilt but know someone who does, please spread the word—we would like to make 23 quilts!
