The Ionia ISD welcomed back somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 employees on its opening day on Wednesday, August 29th. Scott Hubble kicked off the day with introductions from many of the departments at the ISD welcoming many new faces. Following the opening introductions, the Ionia County ISD was proud to present Humorist & Psychologist Dane Wysocki who performed his "The Magic of Humor: Taking what you do seriously, while taking yourself lightly" speech.

Following Dane's hour and a half of enlightening entertainment, Mike Keast, Lori Oestrike, and Carolyn Fox covered many issues from the business office as well as important points from the employee handbook. Additionally, Mike offered 20$ out of his own wallet as an incentive to be won from a hat drawing to those who needed to sign up for direct-deposit.
