What a great victory for Ionia County kids. The May 4th election results (over 70% support!) represents definitive support for vocational education. It also was a wonderful statement of the voter’s love for their kids. A huge THANK YOU goes out to all those who worked extremely hard at ensuring that the voters understood the gravity of this ballot request. Without their commitment to kids and vocational education the success of the Heartbeat for Heartlands campaign would not have occurred. I also consider the passing of the millage as a statement to the credibility that ICISD has in Ionia County. This was developed by many who preceded me… particularly Scott Hubble, Mike Keast & George Hubbard but also the fantastic staff that has been assembled at Ionia County Intermediate School District. As our ICISD purpose statement declares, we are truly “Partners in Building Full Potential”. It truly is a great accomplishment for the kids of Ionia County. It represents the ‘gift of opportunity’ to many students in the county. Thanks for your support.
