Ionia County ISD Welcomes Bob Kjolhede!

Robert Kjolhede is on the job as Ionia County Intermediate School District superintendent. He was chosen to replace George Hubbard, who retired July 31 after 11 years as superintendent. Mr. Kjolhede, 54, was superintendent of the Beal City district. He comes to ICISD with an extensive background, not only in education, but he has also been a trustee of the Isabella County United Way chairing the annual fund raising campaign for the last four years. He has been a member of the Workforce Investment Board for Central Area Michigan Works! and a member of the Isabella County Community Advisory Committee for Substance Abuse.

"This was a tough call, with all five well-qualified for the job," said Bruce Lincoln, ISD board president. "Ultimately, it was Kjolhede's enthusiasm that won us over."

As an educator for over 30 years, Bob has been a teacher, coach, counselor, coordinator of instruction, principal and superintendent.

"I am excited to become a part of such a talented organization that works so well together. Helen Keller put it quite simply, 'Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.' I am pleased to join the ICISD staff who are committed to the conviction that children are our country's most valuable natural resource."
