Severely Cognitively Impaired (SCI) Program Overview
Program Description
The SCI (Severe Cognitive Impairments) Program at Freedom Acres serves students aged 3 to 26 with severe cognitive impairments or severe multiple impairments. The program provides long-term, individualized support focused on preparing students for post-secondary life and community integration.

Program Setting
Freedom Acres, Ionia ISD’s center-based facility, is designed to meet the complex needs of students requiring intensive support. The program serves learners across five local education agencies (LEAs), providing equitable, high-quality services in a Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) whenever possible.
