How Can I Give A Gift

The Imagination Library is a unique program that is not available everywhere and its existence is DEPENDENT upon community donations! Overall, it will take approximately $80,000 annually for every eligible child birth to five to participate in the program. You may make a financial contribution as an individual or through a business / corporate sponsorship.

Enrolling a Child:

This is an excellent value for parents and other family members to take advantage of by enrolling their child in the program. Where else can you get a gift that keeps on giving all year long for such a great price. Every contribution is important and all donations are tax- deductible! If you would like to enroll a child, please consider making the tax-deductible donation of $27.00. If you are unable to make a contribution, please still enroll your child in the program.

Sponsoring a Child:

If reading was a big part of your family life and you would like to another family to have that experience as well you might want to consider sponsoring a child in the Imagination Library. It is a great way to spread the gift of literacy across generations.

Memorial Donations:

Many people are discovering that making a donation to the Imagination Library is a great way to honor a loved one or dear friend. It can be a very special tribute to someone by giving the joy of sharing a book to a young child. Simply mail a donation into the address below and print off this certificate (memorial notification) and enclose it in a card of your choice.

Corporate Sponsorships:

The corporate world has a long partnership with education as it relates to preparing the workforce. Members of the business community are developing a deeper understanding of this connection and starting to recognize the years between birth and the start of kindergarten as critical to their employee of the future. In today’s world, literacy is necessary for every employee to be successful in even the most minimally skilled job. The foundation for literacy is developed in the first five years of life and children who do not start kindergarten with a strong foundation will fall behind.

Rob Grunewald, associate economist at Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, said, “what happens early impacts health, achievement and well-being.” He added that, “long-term studies show a well-educated workforce means strong growth and higher wages.” Mr. Grunewald and other economists feel it is important to provide prenatal and early infant home visits, quality child care and parent education.
