January is Board Appreciation Month

January marks the annual observance of School Board Recognition Month and provides us an opportunity to show appreciation for the service of local school board of education members.

Local school boards continue to do some of the most important work in a community; education of our youth.  The job of a school board member includes establishing a vision for the educational program, helping design the structure to best achieve that vision, and advocate for continual improvements in all areas of student learning.

As volunteer leaders, school board members face a variety of challenges, many being complex and demanding.  Their great deal of education and commitment to serve on a local board of education is admirable and greatly respected.

Please join the students and staff of the Ionia County Intermediate School District in thanking the men and women who so graciously support us and our counties educational community by serving as our local ICISD School Board Members.
