LEAD-K
Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids (LEAD-K) is a national grassroots initiative that is aimed at supporting the language development of all children who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH), ages 0-5. In 2022, PA 0256 [PDF] was passed into law by the Michigan Legislature, and it recognizes that a strong foundation of language acquired early in life is essential for kindergarten readiness and future success. Lead-K Michigan provides support and services to children and families to build a strong foundation of language and literacy for Kindergarten success.
