Transition Training Sites
The purpose of transition is to assist adult learners and their families in their life planning for high school and beyond. We look at four main areas of transition (Employment, Independent living, community participation, post-secondary education) and help create activities that will help the adult learner reach their transition goals.
Ionia County ISD has three Transition Specialists who assist students at each of our five local high schools. There are also four post-secondary transition training sites to assist adult learners after high school completion. Each training site is located in the community rather than a school setting to provide a more realistic structure for life after high school.
